With over 7100 acres of water, the Fox River's Chain O'Lakes is the second largest inland water-oriented recreational asset in Northeastern Illinois and the Fox River and Chain o' Lakes ranks second in popularity in the entire United States. With its 15 lakes, 40 miles of Fox River and over 450 miles of shoreline, the Fox River and Chain o' Lakes system accommodates every water-borne activity ranging from hunting to boating to fishing to birding to swimming. The Fox River and Chain o' Lakes system is centrally located a one hour's drive from Chicago, Milwaukee or Rockford.
Parking Plans for this year are the same as last year - Please try to make orderly rows. We have a lot of boats to fit into a small space.
Sandbar Party Rules
1) DON'T BE A GLASSHOLE!!! No Glass On the Sandbar - Glass in the water with bare feet is bad news. Please respect others around you and pour your glass beverage into a plastic cup
2) This is a 21 and over party!!!- There are plain clothes (swim trunks?) officers wandering the party, just looking to call in underage drinkers. With the police presence this thing brings it is not the day to party underage.
3) Do Not Put your Cigarette Butts in the Water - We had a huge problem and clean-up effort because of smokers that can't dispose of your butts properly. For the sake of keeping things clean, just use an empty beer can... there are plenty there.
4) Do Not Bring Inflatable Islands into the center of the party- they eat up a ton of space, and end up running over people. They are to be kept to the sides of the band area.
5) Do Not Block the Safety Channel - If your boat is blocking a safety channel you will be asked to move by Party Organizers or the Lake County Sheriffs Marine Unit
6) Parking is first come first serve- Tie up next to the last boat in line without crossing into a safety channel. If you don't want to park next to the last boat in line, find another line. There are NO saving spots!
7) Do Not Split the Boat Lines!- If you want to park next to someone special ** SHOW UP TOGETHER** Do Not Cut In Line, it isn't fair to people who actually got there early for a spot.
8) Do Not move any Bouys- They are there to keep lanes open for emergency vehicles, do not jeapordize that.
9) No Nudity is allowed!! - Ladies for the sake of eveything holy, wear pasties to avoid any legal issues
10) Do Not pull down the main sandbar channel - This is for people only, please keep boats in designated channels only.

11) Have someone of legal age on your boat at all times - Do not leave your boat unattended at anytime! Especially overnight or with minors on your boat. No one wants to baby sit your boat for you. Minors alone after curfew is breaking the law, and will have the attention of the Sheriffs Marine Unit.

There is talk that unattended boats overnight, will be considered an abandoned vessel and towed at the owners expense!!!! Yes they can do that, TowBoat US operates on the chain and they charge big money to get your boat back. Do you really want to ruin your day by spending $500 to get your boat back and miss the party? If you aren't going to sleep out on it, just come Saturday morning. Don't even think about coming to me Saturday morning and asking where your boat is at! You have been warned.

12) Be SAFE - DRIVE SLOW- There are just to many people in the water. Be careful and be aware of everything going on around you.
13) Do Not PARK a CAR in neighboring subdivisions- Don't Park close thinking you are going to swim all the way out to a boat. There are strict towing policies in effect this weekend and your car will be GONE if left in a subdivision anywhere close to the party.
14)Bring a floatation device with you if you can't touch heading to the band- every boat has a throwable, that makes a great floating end table at the party. Plus it just might save your life if you have to swim back to your boat
15) Have a Designated Driver!!!!- This is easily the most patrolled weekend of the summer. Do not even think about piloting your boat if you have been drinking.
15) Know which row you parked in- If you have an emergency they are going to ask you which numbered row you are in. It would be a lot quicker than checking 1000 boats.

The Website does NOT make any money on this party. It certainly isn't a free thing to run either. If you are planning on enjoying the party, please make a donation to the party fund. Or click on this link and BUY a PETITE LAKE PARTY T-SHIRT!!!

Other Recommendations
1) have a boat! - please have a place to call your own and do not board anyone elses boat without permission
2) Drink plenty of Water or Gatorade. - This is a marathon not a sprint. You are going to be in or on the water all day. Don't go hard early and end up sleeping by the time the party gets really rollin.
3) Have a Designated Driver - The after party this year is at Blarney Island! Be safe getting there.
4) Use suntan lotion - As said before you will be in the sun all day. Your head is going to hurt the next day, why make your body sore also
5) look out for your friends - use the buddy system, there are a lot of people out for the party that aren't typical boaters. Make sure no one in your group gets into trouble
6) Bring a plastic travel cup - excellent for sharing drinks and helps with the "No Glass" rule
7) Bring a towel - great for drying off and could be used as a blanket in a pinch if you end up passing out. I am always amazed at the number of people that go out on a boat all day and do not bring a towel
8) Bring Garbage Bags - don't want you stuff to even have the chance of getting wet? Put it in a garbage bag, then use it later for the clean up. Hang one off the back of your boat to keep garbage out of the water.
9) Set an anchor- I know others might have some out, but do you really want to be drifting around when 1000 boats go to leave the sandbar?
10) Bring extra Fenders and line for your boat - There are a lot of boats out there try to make sure yours is well protected and respect your neighbors boats. If your boat is 20 feet or larger you should have a minimum of 4 - 8 inch Fenders
I am sure more is going to be added to this

With over a thousand boats last year FunontheFox.com is proud to present MODERN DAY ROMEOS at the Petite Lake Party This year.

For years this has been the biggest and best bash on the water. We are going by 'If it ain't broke... don't fix it', and trying to run the same party as previous years. It has become more and more organized, and with any boating event, safety is key. Please help us out by following some basic guidelines and partying responsibly.

This Party is about and FOR BOATERS! You guys are the ones that make this thing great. If there are problems WE will not be allowed to have this event again. It is in our hands. Please, if you see something that could cause issues SAY SOMETHING. Don't let someone start a fight, dump garbage, or ruin it for everyone. The people that attend are the only ones that can make sure the greatest party of the summer happens every summer.

Schedule:

Get there early Saturday and park. Please refer to the parking guidlines. We will have people around to help, but no were near the number of boats pulling in.

11 am to 1 pm --- DJ Jimmy Jam spinning all your current favorites from a Blarney Island Shuttle Boat. Warming the crowd up.

1 pm to 5 pm --- The MODERN DAY ROMEOS will be playing. Only the greatest party band in the area.

After Party 6 pm - ??? - The after party this year is at Blarney Island. The only place around that can handle the number of boats the after party is going to bring. MODERN DAY ROMEOS will be doing 2 more sets at the Island. NO other event is at the Island this year but us. We are going to take that place over and bring the party till they throw us out!
